True Charity

Is not throwing some coins into the lap of a beggar But is to "Do to others as you would have them do to you" (Mt 7:12) And is to stand by them till the end. The dying destitutes on our streets are the stones rejected by our society as useless. They have no homes, no relatives, no social status and no identity cards. This dying destitute was lying on the roadside on a street in Hyderabad, India under the scorching sun. He had a few food packets thrown around him. But he was unable to get one last drop of water onto his tongue. He was waiting for a helping hand before closing his eyes to this world.

Inspiration

"I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink,I was a stranger and you received me in, naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me, Whenever you did this to one of the least brothers of mine, you did it for me" (Mt 25:35,36,40)

Home for the Homeless

Our Ashrams are not institutions, but families. Every Ashram has a father figure (Pappa) and a mother figure (Mummy). The Inmates are called sons, daughters, brothers, sisters or children according to their age. Thus the inmates who are served in the ashram and the serving members together form a community, a family. They participate in the fellowship of prayer, food, accommodation, clothing, medical aids, etc., experiencing the joyful and loving atmosphere of a family.

Help till the Grav

This destitute who was picked up by our volunteers was given the most needed last drops of water and the intense love and care for him to experience God's love and peace, in such a peace he breathed his last happily.

"THE BEST FORTUNE IN THIS LIFE IS TO HAVE A PEACEFUL AND HAPPY DEATH"
