Under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist (or a different licensed staff if needed), the Mental Health Services Intern provides direct psychotherapy and/or complementary mental health related services such as prevention/education to Patients through a culturally and linguistically appropriate, client-centered approach. The intern will support the Behavioural Health Services team in promoting mental health services internally within SNEHALAYA CHARITABLE TRUST and assisting staff in areas including outcome-based design, service relevance, delivery, effectiveness, and evaluation, all in alignment with SNEHALAYA CHARITABLE TRUST’S mission and vision.
Internship Stipend for all eligible candidates
Students enrolled 3 year degree in social work 2 year(or higher) of Master’s program or Ph.D. program in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related "helping profession" field are preferred. First year Master’s students and fast-track students may also be considered. Students will be provided appropriate supervision based on their degree program.
Students must be pursuing a career in the mental health field and have an interest in serving the Vulnerable population.
Ethical research which is
non harmful to the inmates and which is helpful to improve the mental health of the inmates are welcomed ,with proper permission from authority the research studies can be done with the institution.
